It is also well connected by public transportation, with multiple integrated bus routes and Metro Line B stations such as Suramericana, Estadio, and Floresta.
In terms of education, the area offers institutions such as UPB, Luis Amigó Catholic University, Salazar y Herrera University Institution, and Politécnico Grancolombiano, and it is also close to the University of Medellín and the National University.
The gastronomic scene is equally appealing and increasingly diverse, especially around the First and Second Laureles Parks, offering a wide variety of options without the need to travel long distances or to other parts of Medellín. Nearby shopping centers include Unicentro, Viva Laureles, and Obelisco, as well as Los Molinos in the Belén area.
Laureles is also home to the city’s most important sports complex, the Atanasio Girardot Sports Unit, a landmark for sports enthusiasts and football fans who enjoy weekly matches of Atlético Nacional and Deportivo Independiente Medellín.
For these reasons, Laureles has the second highest price per square meter in the city, after El Poblado. This neighborhood also offers a wider supply of houses for sale or rent, making it attractive to seniors and pet lovers due to the spacious layouts commonly found in its properties. Nevertheless, the number of residential complexes and apartment buildings continues to grow, expanding the real estate offer in this strategic area of Medellín.
After El Poblado, Laureles has the second most expensive price per square meter in Medellín, reaching up to COP $7 million per square meter.
